  • Knuckle Tattoos of the Alamo City Tattoo Expo

    Hello everybody!

Two weeks ago the KnuckleTattoos.com crew headed down to San Antonio for the Alamo City Tattoo Expo. We met a ton of great people talked to them about their knuckle tattoos. I got some great pictures and we heard some great stories. My pal Kai from Mad Pengin came along for the romp and caught a bunch of interviews on video. We will be posting the videos as we have time to edit them all together. In the mean time, here are the photos I took. As always, if these are your knuckles or the knuckles of someone you know and you want to add the story, just email me at nathan[at]knuckletattoos[dot]com and I will feature the story in a separate post.

    Check ’em out!

  • bukowski

These are super rad. Can you beat these knuckles? In the words written on Bukowski’s tombstone “Don’t Try” Lilli sends us her awesome hands:

Bukowski is the man, legendary and just like my father. Maybe it also tells something about my attitudes.

  • SOUTHERN

Joshua Elowsky sends these knuckles in:

My buddy Sonju Rattler did these. I was born and raised in the South, not too far from Sherman’s ashes.

  • HAND MADE

Just got this update from Richard Baggett. I had taken his picture at the Lonestar Round Up and he wanted to add his story to his knuckles:

I’m an Artist Blacksmith in Fort Worth,Texas.
I’ve allways worked with my hands. A skill I thank my grandfathers for. Working with metal has always been my favorite medium. Several years ago a great guy introduced me to Blacksmithing.
Now I build hand forged sculptures. Hence the tattoo “HAND MADE”.

  • WOODWORK

    Shane E is a carpenter.

  • KINDNESS

Meredith S. has this to say about her knuckle tattoos:

Early last year, I gave away most of my shit, filled up a backpack and started footing it down the road. I was hanging out with a lot of other traveling kids, and a lot of them had knuckle tats. They said things like “wanderer” and “vagabond”; “game over” and “love / hate” like you see all the time. Some were more creative. “Wingnut” and “Lousybum” were always my favorites. So I thought to myself, if I get this done, what will I put? I wanted an eight letter word, and I narrowed it down to “kindness” or “grateful.” I would have really liked “grateful” because of my love for the Dead, but ultimately “kindness” was a really good reminder to me of what I want my hands and my actions to accomplish. These are my favorite tattoos.

  • TALENTED

    TALENTED

If you need anything done, talk to Ray S. He can do it. Here is what he has to say:

i do graffiti art, play drums, table tennis, and im a barber. im sick at it all. killer work ethic.

  • REMEMBER

    REMEMBER

Aaron Little sent these in and I thought it would be appropriate to post them on Memorial Day. Here is what he has to say about them:

My knuckle tattoo was partially inspired by my Buddhist beliefs. I got it to remind me daily to follow the noble eightfold path. I also got it as a reminder to learn from my past mistakes. The tattoo was done by Jeremy from The Ink Station in Abilene, TX.

  • OVERCOME

    OVERCOME

Mike B. sent me these knuckles. Here is the story:

i got this to remind myself that i can overcome any and all bullshit that i might face in life

  • DETACHED

You guys know about as much as I do on this set. They were sent in by Michael Dupuis who said that they were done by William at Imago Tattoo in Montreal in early 2004.
