I recently ended up at Your Mom’s Burger Bar in East Austin. Aside from the awesome food, there are knuckle tattoos. First up, we have Philip’s knuckles.
They are all things he likes. On the left: Snow cones, spray paint, pizza, PBR, and on the right, traditional symbols.
I attended the Star of Texas Tattoo Convention and took a whole bunch of photos of knuckle tattoos!

I was watching SNATCH one day and said to myself how I loved the british gangsters in that movie…then it hit me that it would look good on my knuckles. Simple story. It is such a popular term in pop culture, but I really didn’t mean it like “oh I’m gangsta”…it was really about actual dim witted gangsters that can’t do anything right. Similar to myself…lol

I had been wanting to get something on my knuckles for some time now, but never really knew what to get. So I began thinking of things I would want. I also knew I wanted to get a Hopeless Romantic tattoo on me somewhere, because that is pretty much me in a nutshell. Honestly I am pretty sure The Notebook is my favorite movie…. I was so excited when I realize that it would fit perfectly on my knuckles, So I found the font I wanted and put a skull with a bow in with the Hopeless and a heart with crossbones in with the romantic. Kinda ties it all in together and if you just look at that finger, I like to think it says toxic love….

The story behind it is that I’m a fitness trainer and everything I do goes against the grain, from diet to how I exercise, it’s the same in life too, I don’t do it on purpose life just ends up that way, so all my life I’ve had people look at me as extreme especially when they see my feats of strength, well, I struggled to accept that label in the beginning but now I’m taking it and running with it with all I got and I’m not going to hold myself back anymore from being me!….so I’m stepping up my game in everything I do and going “HARDCORE” and I had the tatts done as a constant reminder of what and who I am.
