Today I’ve got a great set of knuckles for y’all. They come on the hands of Skye from Australia, she’s 40% covered and working on more. Since so much of the ink is on her hands, I’m going to alternate her story and the pictures of her knuckles:

and im a women and i admit i have ruined a few men, so i got that tattooed, guess its a warning :P

in my childhood i was brought up in a poor family and through schooling i got allot of unwanted attention cause i could afford to buy the best of everything like all the other rich kids… now im very sucessful and definatly would be having a better lifestyle than those kids that had made fun of me. im where i am today cause of myself not my family nor friends.. I AM SELF MADE

the 3x’s in the webbing of my fingers stand for a life style that i have chosen. The life style is called “Straight Edge”, for people who are unaway of what this consists of.. its
1.No Alchole
2.No permiscuious sex
3.No drugs
and some other people also believe that you have to be vegetarien or vegan as well, i dont believe that view but i am vegan myself.

I had been contemplating what to get on my knuckles for ages and i wanted something todo with my tattooing incorporated into it. then the night before i was talking about it to my girlfriend and she suggested these words because they’re the best way to describe me for her and my left hand contains a shorthand version of my alias. My friend Scott was supposed to do these for me the following afternoon and in return i was supposed to neaten out some lines on his. he didnt turn up and because i was so stoked for them to be done i ended up doing them myself, as can be seen on some lines.

HOMEWARD – DAMN FOOL

These hands belong to Tom Y. He got HOMEWARD because he is always the first one to go home or leave the party. He also doubled up and got:

The story goes like this. He and his friends were sitting out side of the tattoo shop talking about what they would get on their second set of knuckles when some girls walked by and said “You guys are some damn fools”. So he went in and got them done.

TIME WALK

Troy recently moved to Austin. He says that he got his knuckles done for the Magic the Gathering card “Time Walk”. Time Walk is consdiered one of the “Power Nine” cards, or cards from the first three editions of the game that were distinctly overpowered. It allows you to take a second immediately after the current one.

The next row down are the card suits and a pair of flies to go with TIME.

[Side note: I actually had a beta edition Time Walk that I sold for $150 back in the day. Worth four times that now. Bastards]

HURT HEAL (Dead Love)

 

So, while in NYC I only managed to pick up one set of knuckle tattoos. I admit, I was awestruck by the city. But what a set. These beauties belong to Bailey, a tattoo artist at Fun City Tattoo. He kindly tooks some time out of his day to talk to us about his hands. He originally wanted to get STAY AWAY but decided to get something more positive, so he got HURT HEAL instead. After that he got “Dead Love” on his knuckles propper. Apparently shortly after that he found the love of his life.

He also gave us a break down on the various artists that contributed to his hands.

  • Burt Krack – Eye and tears on his left hand.
  • Will Lollie – Rose and Butterfly on the backs of his hands.
  • Marcos – the lettering on HURT HEAL.
  • Allan Rogers – the symbols and Hate on his lower knuckles.
  • Tim Lehi – the spider on his palm.

What spider on his palm? Oh yeah…

BABY LOVE

Great find today! John T. of New York sends in this thorough set of knuckle tattoos. Pictures with his comments interspaced below:

In the first picture are my initials J & T on my pinkies,and some lucky charms.


The second picture is BABY LOVE, this started as a goof thing I used to say to my wife but the more I said it the more it stuck.


The third picture is my 6 & 5 which is my birth year along with 2 daggers.


The fourth picture is all of my hand tattoos the kanji are Pity on the right and Vengeance on the left.


All the tattoos were done by CIV at Lotus Tattoo in Sayville, New York.

ACES FULL

I met Aaron here at the last Texas Rollergirls match as well. He says that he is a gambler, thus the Aces Full. The 901 referrs to the area code of Memphis, TN, his home town. The KAN is an acronym for Kings A Nuthin’, a group of friends out of Memphis. Apparently they predated the band Kings of Nuthin’.

LOST SOUL (harmless)

 

Holy crap y’all. Look at this! Our first set of knuckle tattoos from another country. Freakin’ Germany! Here’s a punch line: he got them done here in Austin. And double deckers at that. Here is what Osti has to say:

My name is Osti, I’m a tattooer living in Germany. Eric Doyle did the top part of my knuckles almost ten years ago when he was working for Perfection Tattoos in Austin. He did the bottom three years ago at Jinx Proof in D.C. The tattoo is about the discrepancy between how I view myself and how everybody else sees me ;-). I had no idea how hard it was to take a picture of your own hands.

Osti, we really appreciate you taking the trouble of photographing your own hands. It ain’t easy. I knew we would get knuckles from other countries, I just didn’t expect them so soon. Thanks again!

VEGA STAR



Today’s knuckle come at the hands of Josh, a piercer at True Blue Tattoos in Austin, TX.
He explained that he is a dedicated science geek and that the Vega Star is the closest solar system to ours. And yes those are fruits, vegtables and meats on the next knuckles down.

Josh is also a killer shot in the laser tag arenas. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
