    Hi – my name is Jake – I have a website www.jaketong.com. I am a tattooist/artist/professional jerk. Made popular from Robert Frost excerpt in the movie/book “The Outsiders” , I got STAY GOLD on my knuckles for a few reasons- A. To me stay gold kinda means stay young as long as you can. B. Kinda was a way for me to say “I’m set in my career”. I’m also stoked ’cause they were done by Bob Creepy, who was my mentor. I owe a lot to the dude.

    i got my first knuckle tat as a gift for myself when i got hired for my first ‘head baker’ job. since then i’ve worked for 2 of THE best pastry chefs in the country and i am working on my own company called cakes4rockstars. when i took on a partner she got her first knuckle tattoo to commemorate it. we both plan on getting new knuckle tattoos every few months in the theme of candy and confections. we’ll keep you updated.

    i’m currently in Rochester, NY but born and bred in the midwest. nothing but flatlands and cornfields. this ink reminds me that even though i’ve been on the east coast for a decade, my roots are in the middle west. it’s a comfort knowing that even though i won’t be going home, home is always with me.

    These knuckles belong to Reece Lightning. The artist was Shawn Featherton. Reece says that they save him a lot of time fishing his ID out of his pocket at bars.

    Andrew S. lives just outside of Chicago. He got ODDS and ENDS done because one man’s trash is another man’s treasures. He has early memories of going with his dad to garage sales and flea markets, and these are in tribute to that.

  • PATIENCE

    These knuckles come via Adam S., tattooist. He says that PATIENCE is a good value to have and that you can’t rush through life.

  • TIME WALK

    Troy recently moved to Austin. He says that he got his knuckles done for the Magic the Gathering card “Time Walk”. Time Walk is consdiered one of the “Power Nine” cards, or cards from the first three editions of the game that were distinctly overpowered. It allows you to take a second immediately after the current one.

    The next row down are the card suits and a pair of flies to go with TIME.

    [Side note: I actually had a beta edition Time Walk that I sold for $150 back in the day. Worth four times that now. Bastards]

    This is Mick Metal of Wayne, New Jersey. His newest tattoo is a reminder of where he is from and where he is going. In his own words:

    Well the Long Road tattoo Means a whole lot. Through my life things have change time and time again the journey is a long road. I have move around alot first because I was in the US Air Force. while in the Air Force I got married and soon after getting out I got a divorce. then moving around trying to find home as a body Piercer. Finally ending up at Shotsie’s Tattoo Shotsie Gorman asked me to apprentice under him and make on of my long time dreams come true. Now that I have found my home and my career I am sure life will still take me through the next journey as it should.

    This is Adam J. of Austin, Texas. He says that TATE is the name of his 3 year old son, and that LUCK is because Tate has cystic fibrosis.
